Duchess of Sussex meets Take That during Royal Variety debut

Appearing on the red carpet with Prince Harry, Meghan was a hotly anticipated guest at the annual event in London.

She met the three remaining members of Take That, telling them she was “looking forward” to seeing them closing the show.

A beaming Mark Owen said he was “very excited” to be meeting the royals.

Meghan wore a black and white sequinned gown by ready-to-wear designer Safiyaa for the occasion.

The couple were entertained by a star-studded line up hosted by comedian Greg Davies, who congratulated the Duke and Duchess on the “wonderful news” of their pregnancy.

Among the acts on the Royal Variety bill were singers Rick Astley and George Ezra, the cast of musical Hamilton and Lost Voice Guy, who won Britain’s Got Talent this year.

Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who performed at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, also played, along with Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo, who performed a duet.

Meghan was also presented with a posy of flowers picked from the garden at Brinsworth House, a nursing home for former entertainers and artists, by seven-year-old Darcie-Rae Moyse.

The gift was to mark her first attendance at the gala, according to Royal Variety chairman Giles Cooper.

The show, which takes place every year, raises money for the Royal Variety Charity and Brinsworth House.
