Patrick Scotland planned to make a fortune selling the drugs to fellow pushers but was starting a long jail sentence last night instead. Detectives were first tipped off about Scotland when Border Force officers discovered ecstasy hidden inside children’s toys addressed to his home. But the scale of his operation was uncovered when council workers on a routine check and found huge quantities of class A narcotics.

Police raided his flat in White City, west London, in February and found the stash.

Apart from 185,000 tablets of MDMA – better known as ecstasy – and several kilos of crystal methamphetamine, there were also large amounts of cocaine, cannabis resin, LSD and ketamine, a horse tranquiliser.

Yesterday, Scotland, 28, was jailed for 10 years at London’s Isleworth Crown Court after he admitted possession of class A and B drugs with intent to supply.

Outside court, Detective Sergeant Kieran Curry, of the Central West Gangs Unit, said: “We take a zero tolerance approach to drug dealing and the associated violence that comes with it. The Met will continue to proactively target those involved in this kind of activity, with the aim of removing such individuals from our streets and systematically disrupting the supply of drugs in our local communities.”
