It’s not the first time the singer’s visage has been spotted by eagle-eyed fans either, with the last known sighting taking place last November by Beatles superfan Lee Baker.
Lee, 51, had come together with friends in Liverpool to celebrate his birthday, and while stopping for a drink at the famous Cavern Club spotted Lennon’s face staring back at him from the bottom of his pint.
The sighting is the latest in a long joins a long line of famous faces to appear in unusual places.
Over the past year we’ve seen Boris Johnson in a chicken korma, Elvis in a pot of McDonald’s ketchup, Shakespeare in a lightbulb, a smiling face in an onion, Jesus Christ in a greasy pizza box and most recently, an owl in a frothy mug of coffee.
And last but not least, 42-year-old Paul McInnes shocked the world back in March when he went to make a bacon sandwich and found none other than Harry Styles staring up at him from his baking tray.
