Double decker-bus engulfed in flames as crash leaves motorcyclist dead

A motorcyclist in his 20s has died after a head-on collision with a coach which burst into flames outside a children’s play area in a caravan park.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene in Filey, North Yorkshire after the crash at around 5pm this afternoon.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the double decker bus belonging to Scarborough based Shoreline Suncruisers. Although the vehicle was evacuated and no one on board was injured.

Footage taken after the crash shows swings still moving back and forth after families ran away from the burning coach.


The family of the motorcyclist, who was riding a black Suzuki, have been informed as officers investigate the crash.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw the collision outside the Haven Blue Dolphin caravan park to contact them with information.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area and a heavy emergency service presence remains at the scene.

The identity of the motorcyclist is yet to be released.
