Donald Trump UK visit: When will Donald Trump arrive in the UK?

Donald Trump and his First Lady Melania Trump will soon arrive in Britain for an official state visit. The American president and his wife will have lunch with the Queen, meet senior politicians and attend a state banquet. This is when they will arrive in the UK, and what they will get up to while they are there.

When will Donald Trump arrive in the UK?

Donald and Melania have recently been in Japan for an official visit and will arrive in the UK on June 3.

Their three-day visit includes a jam-packed schedule of vents and will round off with D-Day commemorations on June 5.

What will Donald Trump do while he is in the UK?

While Donald Trump will meet Theresa May for talks during his three-day UK trip, the state visit is mostly a ceremonial exercise.

On Day one he and Melania will be treated to a royal welcome at Buckingham Palace, before lunching with the Queen and being given a private tour of Her Majesty’s picture gallery.

Key events during the visit include:

  • A visit to Westminster Abbey
  • Afternoon tea with Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of York.
  • A state banquet hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace
  • Talks with PM Theresa May at No 10 Downing Street
  • Attending 75th-anniversary D-Day commemorations with the Queen in Portsmouth.

While Trump has previously expressed his wish to meet all the royals, it’s unlikely he will get to see Meghan Markle and her new royal tot, baby Archie Harrison.

The Duchess of Sussex is expected to stay tucked away in Frogmore Cottage and taking care of the baby.

Her husband Prince Harry may attend the state banquet the Queen is to host for the Trumps on June 3.

While senior politicians and some royals are expected at the event, a handful have declined the invitation in protest.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Commons Speaker John Bercow, London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Lib Dem leader Sir Vince Cable have announced their plans to boycott the white-tie dinner in protest to Mr Trump.

On the flip side, Nigel Farage’s allies say Whitehouse officials are keen to get the Brexit Party leader and Trump’s long-term pal a seat at the banquet.

One Brexit Party insider told the Mail on Sunday: “Overtures have been made about Nigel going in with the US contingent.

“We have been told that his attendance would be a ‘red line’ for No 10, but it’s not clear if they would be able to stop him coming.”

Populist politicians Mr Trump and Mr Farage have been close since the former Ukip leader attended Republican rallies ahead of the property tycoon’s election.
