We were discussing pre-preparations for the virtual Children’s Parliament, backed by the Daily Express, to make it a resonating success prior to the COP26 conference in Glasgow.
Sir David personally made the Children’s Parliament a reality. Without him it wouldn’t have happened.
He appeared in the first picture with all the children armed with trees which appeared in August in the Express.
He was due to jointly host the 90-minute virtual session of the virtual Children’s Parliament.
But it will indeed continue as a tribute to Sir David who was such a rare, fine man. He was instrumental in encouraging over 50 MPs to personally find Child MP matches.
My daughter, Lola, 11, was his match for Southend West, his constituency and she appeared in the Express on Wednesday.
She came home from school in floods of tears. She called him “such a kind man, he was such a wonderful man.” In his memory, long live the Children’s Parliament.
