Dave Courtney’s volatile relationship with stepson who was murdered

Dave Courtney reportedly had a volatile relationship with his stepson Genson Courtney just before he was shot dead in a ‘gang assassination’.

Genson Courtney was murdered by his uncle David Pinto over 10 years ago who shot him through the left eye.

Pinto, who was 33 when he was sentenced in 2013, and getaway driver Robert Bleach, then 46, were found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey.

According to reports, shortly before his death, Genson and Dave had gotten into a fight.

The Guardian reported that Genson had woken up one morning in June “in a bad mood” and confronted his stepfather about mortgage payments on their house.

The two Courtneys then reportedly went to a local common where Dave Courtney was knocked to the ground and hit several times by Genson.

Prosecuting, Jonathan Rees QC said: “In total, he hit Dave Courtney three times before he drove off leaving him bloodied and battered.”

Later, Genson allegedly tried to hit his stepfather with a golf club and asked if he remembered being knocked out in the past.

Despite the violence, the dispute was later settled when Genson returned to the house and gave Dave a hug.

The insight into Dave Courtney’s relationship with his stepson comes after news that the former ganger turned actor and author has died.

Mr Courtney was found dead at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A post on social media announced the death of the man who claimed to have been an associate of the Kray Twins.
