Danny Pearce death: Man charged with murder over 2017 Greenwich killing

A man has been charged with the murder of a 31 year-old man who was stabbed to death almost three years ago.

Danny Pearce was attacked on 15 July 2017, while walking with his girlfriend in Greenwich in southeast London.

A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds, but police also found gunshot grazing and evidence of at least four shots fired in Mr Pearce’s direction.

David Egan, of Deptford, southeast London, is to appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, charged with murder.

Scotland Yard said that Egan has also been charged with possession of a firearm, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon on the same date as the killing.

The 23-year-old is also charged with two further robberies – on 11 July and 13 July 2017 – as well as possession of an offensive weapon and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Jordan Bailey-Mascoll, 26, was previously found guilty of murdering Mr Pearce and sentenced to life imprisonment in July 2018 with a recommendation he serve at least 35 years.
