Dad who won £58,000,000 in lottery takes friends on extravagant trip to Dubai

A joiner who won over £58million in the lottery celebrated by taking seven of his mates on a luxurious week-long holiday in Dubai.

Ryan Hoyle, 38, won £58,366,487 playing the EuroMillions lottery last April but had not been able to celebrate because of coronavirus restrictions around the world.

But he made up for it over the New Year when he paid for himself and his friends, also tradesmen, to stay in five-star penthouse suites, enjoy first-class flights and drink £1,700 bottles of champagne.

He told The Sun: ‘Covid’s made things tough for everyone so it was great to be able to get away and have a party.

‘I’ve known all the lads for around 20 years and wanted to treat them to a trip they’d never forget.’

Ryan, from Rochdale, Greater Manchester, spent £20,000 on two of the Five Jumeirah Village Hotel’s penthouses and a private terrace on the top floor.

The group enjoyed nights at the same beach bar and club where Justin Bieber recently hosted a party – Zero Gravity.

There they drank six-litre bottles of Laurent Perrier champagne and six-litre bottles of Ciroc vodka, both worth £1,700 each.

Although the group could only fly to Dubai in economy, because those were the only seats Emirates had available, they flew back with £6,000 first-class tickets.

‘I could have spent the entire week on the plane. I had a full-size bed, my own cabin with a giant plasma screen and amazing service,’ said Ryan’s friend Peter Garry.

The father, who is single, plans to take his 11-year-old daughter to Disneyland in Florida as soon as coronavirus restrictions relax.

Peter said Ryan was ‘the best friend anyone could have’ who has never had ‘anything flash about him’ and is ‘still the same great guy’ who ‘hasn’t been changed’ by the win.

Before this recent holiday the only travelling My Hoyle had done was trips to Magaluf and Benidorm on two stag parties.

Along with so many in the country the group of friends all faced job insecurity during the pandemic. Peter said: ‘We never in our wildest dreams expected him to be so generous and have all had literally the best week of our lives.’
