Dad killed son in 'murder-suicide' after telling mum her ‘hell had just begun'

A German designer suspected of killing his three-year-own son before taking his own life told his estranged British celebrity stylist wife her ‘hell had only just begun’ after vanishing with the boy.

The bodies of little Tasso and Clemens Weisshaar, 44, were discovered in a wooded area near Santa Margarida da Serra, a village 80 miles south of Lisbon, on Sunday.

Mr Weisshaar was found to have self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, while Tasso’s remains were found inside a burned-out car.

They had been reported missing by Tasso’s mother Phoebe Arnold – a well-known stylist whose clients include Paloma Faith – a week earlier when Mr Weisshaar failed to return the youngster following a custody visit.

Portuguese daily Correio da Manh quotes police sources as saying Munich-born Mr Weisshaar had emailed Ms Arnold warning ‘your hell has now begun’ after disappearing with the boy.

It also reports that Ms Arnold left him and moved to Lisbon with their son after ‘several episodes of domestic violence’ at their home in Grandola.

She was letting her ex spend time alone with their son for the first time since they split back in July when they vanished.

The Policia Judiciaria, the investigative police force leading the ongoing criminal inquiry, has not yet made any official comment.

Mr Weisshaar was last seen at Taberna dos Mosqueiroes bar-restaurant the day before he picked his son up.

Dulce Ermida, who owns the eatery with husband Rui, said: ‘The father would often come in for something to drink or eat.

‘He had bought a house nearby that he was doing up and when he was working on the house, he tended to come in.

‘He seemed like a normal nice guy. The little boy and the mum had also been in before but not since the summer.

‘I noticed nothing out of the ordinary. We knew the dad and the youngster were missing from last Monday and assumed he had gone to Germany with his son.

‘We never imagined for one moment that things would end in the terrible and awful way they have. We found out what had happened on Sunday afternoon. The news reached us very quickly.

‘I’m still in a state of shock to be honest. It’s all really upsetting.’

Ms Arnold was said to be in ‘deep suffering’, according to her lawyer.

Patricia Cipriano told MailOnline: ‘She’s just thinking about what she’s going to do the next minute right now.

‘She hasn’t woken up to reality yet. She can’t believe he is dead. She doesn’t exactly know the circumstances of his death.’

A post-mortem examination is underway to determine exactly when and how Tasso died.
