Dad hits back after trolls slam him for kissing five-year-old son on lips

A father found himself at the centre of an online controversy after sharing an innocuous video in which he kissed his five-year-old son on the lips.

While many viewers appreciated the display of affection, some online trolls slammed the dad for his decision to kiss his son publicly.

Tom Leeds, who goes by the username @tom_lee on TikTok created a video, responding to an online comment about his eyes and whether or not he used a filter to edit his clips.

Playfully, he invited his son to join him on camera to showcase their matching blue eyes.

Tom said: “It’s just not fair” before asking his son for a kiss. The father and son shared a sweet peck on the lips.

But this innocent gesture received negative feedback from a woman who commented: “Just gorgeous both but don’t kiss him on the lips.”

The comment sparked a response from the online community, with over 300 reactions, most of which defended Tom’s decision and expressed support for his loving relationship with his son.

Tom stood his ground and asserted that he will continue to kiss his son on the lips, regardless of the opinions of trolls.

Many viewers shared their own experiences, saying how important it was for families to express affection.

One individual shared: “I’m 54 and still kiss both my parents on the lips when I’m saying goodbye after seeing them. Also always say I love you!”

“Really don’t get why some people find this a problem it’s absolutely adorable”, another defended.

“Kiss your son on the lips as much as you want. Showing love is never wrong! He’s only young once”, a TikToker reminded Tom, and someone else said: “Don’t see anything wrong here just pure love.”

Tom stood his ground and asserted that he will continue to kiss his son on the lips, regardless of the opinions of trolls.

Tom replied to the woman’s comments in another follow-up video. He said: “I find it worrying that it bothers you.”

He added: “I will kiss my son, my five-year-old child, on the lips, as long as I deem necessary and as long as he lets me.”
