Cyclist taken to hospital after being assaulted by a number of men with weapons following road collision
GARDAI are investigating after a male cyclist (39) was assaulted by a group of men in Kilbarrack, Dublin 5 this morning.
A number of men got out of a black saloon car and assaulted the man with weapons after their car collided with him on Swans Nest Road shortly after 10.30am on Saturday.
The men then left the scene in the car. It is not known what type of weapons were used.
The injured man was taken to Beaumont Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí are appealing for any person who witnessed the incident or with information to contact Raheny Garda station on 01-6664300, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
They are further seeking any drivers of vehicles or cyclists with dash cam footage who were in the Kilbarrack area at this time to check their dash cams footage and contact Raheny Garda station.
