Couple sent letter saying they’re 'evil' for not walking their dogs enough

A married couple was left ‘raging’ after being sent a letter calling them ‘evil’ for not walking their dogs.

Vinny and Kate Field own two Dobermanns Veronica and Regina who they say are ‘happy and healthy’.

Kate used to take them on two walks a day before she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in June 2019, stopping her from walking them alone.

Her husband Vinny now walks the dogs once a week in a private field and lets them roam in their garden during the day.

One of their neighbours took offence at the situation and sent the couple a disturbing letter.

The letter reads: ‘Take yore (sic) dogs for a walk you cruel evil people. Big dogs like what you have should be taken for a walk and not just left in a garden to probably paddle in their own faeces.

‘This is from all the local dog owners and other disgusted people. We have reported you.’

Kate was ‘enraged’ when she opened the letter, adding: ‘I would love for them to come forward, I would explain I can’t physically walk them.’

She said: ‘The dogs get enough exercise, I don’t understand where this has come from or why they sent the letter.

‘I’m not strong enough to take them out. We’ve got one of the largest gardens in our street, if you were to go around and run all the way (through the garden) and to the side of the house, you’d get a lot of exercise. They also have all the downstairs.

‘With the dogs we got, most people when they see them they’ll cross the road because they’re so scared of them. It’s like you can’t win. The oldest (Veronica) doesn’t like young children or other dogs even though she lives with another dog. They’re also very protective.

‘We’re responsible dog owners, they’re happy, healthy and loved. Whoever sent the letter has no idea. A lot of people have said it’s a hate letter and to report it to the police.’
