Coronavirus: Who has died in the UK after contracting COVID-19?
As the death toll from coronavirus cases continues to grow, we take a look at where and at what rate the virus is spreading – and the stories behind some of those who have lost their lives.
So far, 104 people have died in the UK after contracting coronavirus, with 2,626 confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded across the country.
London has been worst hit – with 953 cases and at least 35 deaths.
Most of those who have died in the UK have been in their 70s and 80s – but the youngest is just 45. Most had underlying health problems.
Among the youngest to test positive for coronavirus was a baby at the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston in Norfolk – the second reported UK case among infants.

Thirty-two people died in England on Wednesday following the biggest daily leap in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the UK after 676 infections were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
The number of cases and deaths announced daily have been rising sharply over the past two days.
The latest death toll of 104 people means that the UK has seen 52 deaths for every 1,000 cases.
But the chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance has suggested that for each death there could be 1,000 cases.
That could mean that the number of cases in the UK could be as high as 100,000 as most of them go unreported.
England has seen the most of the deaths with 97 deaths spread across the region.
