Coronavirus news live – UK death toll at 31,855 and lockdown latest

Another 269 people have died from coronavirus in the UK in hospitals and across the wider community.

The new figure now means that 31,855 people across the country have now lost their lives to Covid-19 – although the true figure may well be higher as lower death tolls are normally reported at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson revealed the government’s exit plan from coronavirus lockdown in his address to the nation on Sunday night, where he said ‘unlimited’ exercise is encouraged from Wednesday and that anyone who cannot work from home is actively encouraged to go in.
