Coronavirus: Heartwarming moment UK care home celebrates 100th birthday in unique way
With the coronavirus outbreak in the UK causing normal life to grind to a halt, there are fears that a number of vulnerable people could suffer. Care homes are particularly at risk because of already short staff and with over-70s being very susceptible to the virus. Anna Knight, who runs the Harbour House for the elderly in Bridport in Dorset, shared a heartwarming story with the BBC’s Today show about a 100th birthday celebration in the isolated care home.
She told Radio 4: “We had a very special day. It was a kind of zoo-like experience

“They had champagne outside, we had champagne inside, we all sang together.
“In difficult times, we have to do everything we can.”
