Coronavirus ‘bio-security’ will become normal at airports and football matches post-crisis

Despite the coronavirus pandemic still impacting countries across the world, scientists have been discussing what changes need to be seen after the health crisis. ANCON Technologies technical director Dr Boris Gorbunov warned that Governments around the world may rapidly increase their security at large public gatherings. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Dr Gorbunov insisted stronger security measures will be employed to prevent future pandemics after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

Dr Gorbunov said: “Scientists are talking about post-coronavirus measures already.

“The current idea is that we have to develop some form of bio-security equipment.

“Something that can be installed at points of entry, airports and places where a large number of people can be present like at football matches.

“That equipment exists at the moment.

“If you fly abroad in airports you see the scanning devices, x rays and equipment to take swabs.

“Someone will take a swab from your hand or steering wheel if you go through the Channel Tunnel.

“They will analyse and look for the presence of explosives.

“Hopefully in a year, everything we need can be developed.”

He has also warned that new data could indicate that coronavirus can spread further in the air than previously thought.

Dr Gorbunov noted that new modelling data has shown from one sneeze or cough the virus could spread as far as 25 metres in the air.

This would mean any time period outside could result in an individual coming into contact with the virus.

Due to this fact, He insisted that all people that leave their homes should wear a face-covering mask.

He admitted that they are not 100 percent effective at stopping the virus but can still act as a barrier from the deadly virus.

On Saturday it was announced that Briton had seen over 20,000 people die from coronavirus while in the hospital during the pandemic.
