After commenting on the Firm ahead of the funeral on Saturday, many took to social media to refute the political commentator’s claims. Ms Sarkar, who was a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, said on Twitter: “The monarchy is a dehumanising institution, which mangles those who have the good fortune to be born into it. “Whose interest does it serve to have to grieve like this?”
Ms Sarkar made the comments in reference to a story which claimed Peter Phillips will walk between Prince William and Prince Harry behind their grandfather’s coffin.
In support of the monarchy, some users took to social media to claim it is not a dehumanising institution.
One person said: “The monarchy is not a dehumanising institution.
“It does far more good and generates far more wealth than anything a UK republic would come up with
“Harry is an utter disgrace in what he has said and how he has acted.”
Another said: “Think you’ll find that communism is pretty dehumanising.”
A third said: “Tradition is important in every culture.
“Let them grieve in their own way instead of attacking.”

Ahead of the funeral, the palace has also confirmed all royals will wear civil suits despite Harry and Prince Andrew requesting to wear military attire.
If royals were permitted to wear military attire, Harry would’ve been the only one in a civil suit after having his titles stripped as a result of Megxit.
The Queen did so in order to present a sign of unity for the family after a period of uneasy relations between some members of the Royal Family.
A palace spokesperson also insisted all plans were signed off by Her Majesty.
They added: “Members of the royal family will be wearing morning coat with medals or day dress.
“That’s to say members of the royal family will not be in military uniform.
“All arrangements have been signed off by Her Majesty.”
