It claims females look six years older with silver hair, yet males only put on three years. On average women’s hair starts greying at 34, a year later then men,
Eight out of 10 females said they immediately plucked their first grey hairs, against less than a third of men.
And within a year almost three-quarters of women were using dye versus a fifth of men.
Hair transplant surgeon Dr Asim Shahmalak, of Manchester’s Crown Clinic, which did the poll of 1,000, said: “More than 60 per cent of us have some greys by 40. Men are far more relaxed about it because male pattern baldness is a much more significant factor. Men would far rather be grey than bald.”
