The message included a short video which highlighted many of the trips and official visits that the royal couple have undertaken since 2010. The statement read: “As the decade comes to an end, we wanted to share some highlights from a decade in the life of TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Wishing all our followers a very Happy New Year!”

Royal fans were quick to show their support and appreciation, warmly praising the couple and wishing them a happy New Year in return.

One wrote:”What a wonderful team you make. What a pleasure it’s been to have gone along for the ride.

“Happy New Year.”

Another posted: “Best wishes to TRHs for a happy new year 2020 and new decade!!

“Wonderful post thank you.”

While a third commented: “Congratulations on an outstanding 2019!

“2020 would be even better. Happy New Year”.

A fourth said: “A couple who truly love each other.

“You can see it in every photo.”

2019 has seen the Prince of Wales travel to all parts of the world on official royal engagements.

His travels have taken him to India and New Zealand, as well the Solomon Islands, where he saw first hand the effects of global warming and rising sea levels.

The Prince is a passionate environmentalist and has repeatedly warned about the threats of climate change, even publishing a Ladybird book on the subject in 2017.
