CCTV of moment boy racer smashes into bus stop – missing pedestrian by inches
Driver collides into bus station while driving uninsured in Cardiff
Shocking CCTV images have shown the moment a teenage boy racer hits a traffic island before ploughing his car into a post box and bus stop, narrowly missing a pedestrian who was forced to run for cover.
Ismail Adan, 19, was caught on camera driving along Cardiff’s Bute Street at about 10pm on March 30, with a passenger sat next to him.
He appeared to be speeding on the wrong side of the road – but after seeing a car coming in the opposite direction, swerved the Vauxhall Mokka he was driving into the correct lane, at which point he clipped the island and lost control.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court was shown footage of the aftermath, with Adan’s car crashing first into the post box and then the bus stop, Wales Online reported.
The pedestrian was only saved by their quick reactions, and can be seen in the clip running out of the way.

Adan also missed a nearby phone box by inches.
The police were called and spoke to the defendant, who blamed another vehicle for forcing him to swerve out of the way.
However, Adan, of Penarth Road, Grangetown, later admitted guilty to dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.
The court was told he had no previous convictions.

Recorder Christian Jowett said the defendant was “immature” as a result of his young age.
Adan was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months.
He was further ordered to attend a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement and do 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also told to pay costs of £420, and was disqualified from driving.
