Carrie Symonds to NOT move into No10? Boris Johnson and girlfriend buy new London property

Mr Johnson, 53, and Ms Symonds, 31, have bought a four bedroom semi-detached home in South London. Neighbours have reported sighting of Ms Symonds and her mother moving belongings into the Victorian home in Camberwell last Friday. One resident told the Mail Online: “No one has been there for a long time, about a year. “The first we knew it had sold was when the ‘For Sale’ sign came down.”

Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds relationship has not been without controversy, last month the police were called to Ms Symonds’ flat after neighbours reportedly heard a row.

Officers attended the address in London and found no offence had occurred.

The new property located a mile from the flat, is a described in a brochure as being in a “fantastic location for city life while continuing to be located in calm, green spaces within a close-knit community”.

The three-storey building is also conveniently located three miles from the Houses of Parliament.

However, a source close to the couple insists the pair still plan to live together inside Number 10, and the new property was bought “as a sign of their commitment”.

A source told The Sun: “This does not change anything about No 10.

“Boris and Carrie wanted to buy somewhere together as a sign of their commitment and where they could put down roots together.

“They will get married when they can and use this place as a marital home.”

However, Mr Johnson remains married to his wife of 25 years Marina Wheeler, 55, following their split in September last year.

The former Mayor of London will become Prime Minister tomorrow after a landslide victory in the Tory leadership contest.

Mr Johnson received 92,153 votes compared to Mr Hunt’s 46,656 when the result was announced shortly after midday today by the 1922 committee.

The former Foreign Secretary will officially be sworn into Number 10 on Wednesday, after Theresa May visits the Queen at Buckingham Palace to seal her departure and recommend her successor.

However, Ms Symonds is one again unlikely to be with Mr Johnson on his trip to the Palace or when he enters Downing Street.

A friend of the couple said: “She wants to support him in any way she can but she’s got no desire to put herself in front of the cameras.”

Whilst another friend said: “She’s the last person to want to make a big entrance.

“Of course she plans to be supportive of Boris, as ever, but she doesn’t want to be front and centre.”
