Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie of the Royally Obsessed Podcast reviewed the “gag” gifts the Royal Family have reportedly bought each other for Christmas and were interested in Carole Middleton’s present for her grandchildren. The events supplier revealed in an Instagram post that she often buys them a Tomte, a traditional Swedish “spirit” doll that protects the household of whoever it lives in. Ms Middleton revealed she hides them around the house which makes Princes George, Louis and Princess Charlotte “laugh” as the podcast hosts dived into the other light-hearted presents the Royals exchange at Christmas.

Ms Middleton shared on her Instagram account for her business, Party Pieces, an image of two Tomtes which she is selling on her website.

Under the photo, she wrote: “I’m going to need a few of these cheeky chaps this December, to hide around the house and make my grandchildren laugh. As much as I love immaculate decorations, we can’t be too serious at Christmas!”

In an interview with the Telegraph in 2018, Ms Middleton revealed she likes to have as many Christmas trees in her home as possible.

She also enjoys putting one in the grandchildren’s room so “they can decorate it themselves”.

Ms Middleton often gives a small glimpse into Royal Family life and told Saga Magazine earlier this year that she enjoys gardening with her grandchildren.

She said: “If I’m doing planting with my grandchildren I like to have it all laid out at ‘activity stations’ with their own little trowel and pot so they can get started immediately.”

Ms Fiorito and Ms Bowie said they “loved” the look into the Royal Family Christmas and remarked the Tomtes were not as “elevated chic” as would be expected.

The royal commentators also recalled several other presents the royals have bought one another.

Meghan and Prince Harry deprived Royal Family of own privacy

According to Finding Freedom, Meghan Markle bought Prince William a spoon with the words “cereal killer” on it which reportedly went down well with the future king.

The book also claimed Prince Harry gave the Queen a shower cap with the phrase “Ain’t life a b****” written on it.

It added: “Another time he gifted his grandmother a Big Mouth Billy Bass singing toy that was said to sit proudly in Balmoral, her Scottish retreat, and provide the Queen with great laughs.”

The podcasters also remembered reports that Kate Middleton had purchased Prince Harry an inflatable doll for the holidays.

Royal biographer Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that Prince Harry felt “erased” after a picture of him was not included in the Queen’s 2019 Christmas speech.

He explained: “So there you had, in photographs right next to the Queen, the people that clearly were most important to her.

“The Cambridges, all of them. Her [father], King George VI, and [Prince] Philip…

“A friend of Harry’s told me that he felt that he was being erased in a sense from the family.”
