The Duchess has five grandchildren, two from her son Tom and three from daughter Laura. Appearing on The Reading Room, an organisation she founded to promote literature, the Duchess revealed she loves reading to her grandchildren.

In a short video she commented: “I read to my children and now I read to my grandchildren.

“I love it. I read to them when they were absolutely tiny and they’ve got older and older and older, and now they actually read to me!”

During the video the Duchess is seated on a smart green patterned chair with several books visible on a table behind her.

She is wearing a white shirt and sleeveless dark blue jacket complete with broach.

The Duchess also praised the work of charity Beanstalk which promotes reading amongst children.

She said: “A charity which I’m patron of, called Beanstalk, which is a volunteering charity.

“They went to all these schools and they sat down one to one with these pupils and they read to them.

“It’s so important I think to read from an early age.”

Camilla uses her ‘Reading Room’ account on Instagram to discuss books and has enjoyed and speak with authors.

The account has already attracted over 95,000 followers.

The video of Camilla was accompanied by a short caption promising more book recommendations soon.

It said: “The Easter holidays are a perfect time to enjoy reading with the children in your life.
