Camilla’s relatable gaffe with her face mask has delighted royal watchers. The Duchess of Cornwall had been attending a significantly paired down Royal Ascot with Prince Charles and other members of the monarchy. Royally Obsessed podcast host Rachel Bowie pointed out the future queen’s quick fix as one of her favourite moments of the day.

She told listeners: “It is fun to see everyone together again outside.

“Royal fashion is truly back.

“One thing that I loved was Camilla’s mask hold.

“She was truly all of us.”

Ms Bowie continued: “She was getting out of the car and didn’t have her mask on.

“But she clearly wanted it on immediately so she was just holding it.

“Doesn’t that happen to everyone?

“You’re carrying things and you have to loop it around your ears and stuff.”

Ascot is known to be the monarchy’s favourite event of the year.

This year attendees wore masks and had to receive Covid tests.

The Queen did not attend the opening day as she had an in-person meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

However she did make the final day of the event to watch the races.
