Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall humiliation: How Camilla is not ready to be Queen

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is the second wife of Prince Charles, the next in line to the throne. Charles’ first wife, Princess Diana, used the title Princess of Wales, but Camilla decided not to use the title and instead uses Duchess of Cornwall. In her position, she assists her husband in his official duties and is also the patron, president and a member of several charities and organisations, particularly in the areas of osteoporosis, rape and sexual abuse, literacy, animal welfare and poverty. But why do some people believe she is unprepared for the responsibilities of Queen?

Clarence House has previously stated that Camilla intends to use the title of Princess Consort when Charles takes the throne, but technically she will still be the Queen by the King’s side.

But is she ready for all that entails?

According to the latest figures from the Court Circular which officially records all past engagements of the Royal Family going back to 1997, Camilla undertook only 57 percent of the official royal engagements Queen Elizabeth II has taken on this year.

To date, Camilla has worked 69 engagements this year, making her the eighth hardest working royal out of the full list of 15, placing her amongst the lowest half.

By comparison, the Queen has undertaken 122 engagements and Camilla’s husband, the Prince of Wales, has taken on 131 engagements.

Given that many of Camilla’s royal duties as the Duchess of Cornwall, and the prospective Queen, are to be by Charles’ side, the 62 more engagements undertaken by the Prince of Wales has proved baffling for some.

While, Camilla is by no means the least hard-working of royal women with Prince Edward’s wife Sophie, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Alexandra, the Duchess of Gloucester and the Duchess of Sussex attending fewer engagements this year, it seems as though, the 72-year-old is less prepared to step up to the position than her husband.

The Royal Family’s workload from most to least hardworking:

  • Princess Anne: 137
  • Prince Charles: 131
  • Queen Elizabeth II: 122
  • Prince Andrew: 104
  • Prince Edward: 78
  • The Duke of Kent: 76
  • Prince Harry: 69
  • Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall: 69
  • The Duke of Gloucester: 66
  • Prince William: 66
  • Sophie, Countess of Wessex: 60
  • Kate Middleton: 41
  • Princess Alexandra: 32
  • The Duchess of Gloucester: 30
  • Meghan Markle: 25

Charlie Proctor, the editor-in-chief of Royal Central, told The Sun Online: “Camilla will make an excellent Queen. She is a hardworking, kind and dedicated member of The Royal Family.”

“The backlash against Camilla is unfair and unfounded.

“She has an excellent relationship with The Queen, William and Harry and young Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“But most importantly she has an amazing relationship with Prince Charles. Charles and Camilla will be an excellent King and Queen.
