Cadbury could bring back popular retro chocolate for Christmas

Cadbury Puds were special treats released every year in December as they resembled little Christmas puddings. The hazelnut truffle fillings, coated in a milk chocolate shells, were discontinued in the 1990s despite being a popular favourite.

But now blog Snack News and Reviews claims the chocolates are to return for the festive period this year.

And nostalgic chocolate lovers have rejoiced at the news, Daily Mirror reports. 

The blog posted on Facebook: “Cadbury Puds are coming back – CONFIRMED!

“Around in the late 90s these had a hazelnut truffle filling, coated in a milk chocolate shell.

“They’re showing on the Cadbury Gifts Direct website now but are currently unavailable. We’ll keep you updated once they’re in stock!

“Thanks @treatsinstore for the heads up.”

Among the hundreds of comments on the Facebook post today, one man said: “Yes please.”

Another replied: “Remember these bad boys?!”

A third posted: “I loved these when I was little.”

Someone else admitted: “This excites me.”

Another wrote: “They need to bring back caramel bell tree decorations.”

A page was created for them on the Cadbury Gifts Direct website, but it is currently unavailable.

A spokesman for Cadbury, which was founded in Bourneville, Birmingham, said: “We’re always listening to our Cadbury fans and love hearing about the products that they want to try. This year’s Christmas range reflects that and we do have some exciting new, and returning, treats for chocolate lovers. Watch this space – all will be revealed soon.”
