Cackling thug mums in clown masks bleached rival in Stanley knife attack

Two mums who donned clown masks before breaking into a woman’s home and attacking her with a Stanley knife have both been jailed for 10 years. Kathryn Llewellyn, 43, and Teresa Morgan-Peters, 45, wore the “trick or treat” face coverings as disguises before forcing their way inside their victim’s home in Ystradgynlais, near Swansea.

The attack, which also saw the pair douse their victim in bleach, was sparked by a “petty squabble” on Facebook between Llewellyn and her target.

Llewellyn, of Godrergraig, and Morgan-Peters, of Ystradgynlais, woke their victim up in the early hours by “cackling” down the phone before launching their attack, which left the victim with a scarred face.

Both women were jailed for 10 years and handed indefinite restraining orders against their victim at the end of a Swansea Crown Court trial.

Prosecutor Robin Rouch told the court how the attack on Philippa Stevens began on Halloween.

Mr Rouch, quoted by MailOnline, said: “They started laughing like clowns cackling.”

The two women then barged into her home after midnight on October 31.

Ms Stevens said: “I thought it must be one of my mates clowning around with Halloween. I saw two figures coming down the hallway in clown masks. One started coming at me with a Stanley knife. Then the other one came at me and I had bleach thrown at me. They didn’t say nothing. One had me down to bleach me.”

She managed to pull one of her attackers’ masks off, but could only make out that it was a white woman, due to the darkness.

Wounded, Ms Stevens then fled to a friend’s home. She sustained knife injuries to her face, neck, arm, back and thigh

She said: “They wanted me dead. They knew exactly what they were doing. It was planned. It was vicious. It was co-ordinated.”

Swansea Crown Court heard how a row on social media erupted after Llewellyn posted explicit “nonsense” about the victim and Ms Stevens messaged her partner to stop.

The court heard he replied: “Watch your f****** back. Don’t f*** with me.”

The attack happened days after the social media row with the court hearing DNA from the women was found on a mask and bottles used in the attack.

David Leathley, defending Llewellyn, said: “It’s a total anomaly what has caused this. It appears to be a paltry squabble on social media – very petty.”

He said despite Ms Stevens’ injuries and the scarring she suffered in the attack she remains “a very attractive person”.

Morgan-Peters’ barrister said she had been dealing with the deaths of her father and brother as well as the breakdown of her marriage in the run-up to the attack.

Judge Geraint Walters said: “The facts of the case can only be described as truly disturbing.”

The pair were found guilty of burglary, wounding with intent and having an article with a blade or point.
