British woman, 24, found dead in Magaluf
Tributes have been paid to a British woman who died in the Spanish resort town of Magaluf.
Danielle Finlay Brookes’ body was found just before 9pm local time (8pm BST) on Tuesday, the Olive Press in Spain reports.
The 24-year-old was originally from Crewe in Cheshire and had been working in Magaluf for several years, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Ms Finlay Brooke’s friend Meghan Tattersall posted on Facebook on Wednesday: “You are my best friend and my angel high in the sky.
“I’m truly heartbroken. I’m so proud to be able to spend every day with you.
“Fly high my princess. RIP to my girl I’m so proud of. I love you.”
Ms Finlay Brookes’ friends and family have since raised more than £5,000 through a GoFundMe appeal to pay for repatriation and funeral costs.
A post on the fundraising page describes her as a “girl full of fun and laughter taken far too soon from us”.
A friend named Shannon Staniforth wrote: “Sleep well mate, you will be missed by many.”
Another friend name Steve Marshall wrote: “Rest in peace young lady.”
Police are reportedly not treating her death as suspicious.
Sky News has contacted the Foreign Office for comment.
