Brexiteer warns of devastating consequences for Labour as ‘delusional’ Remainers take over
Mr Chilton warned of the “devastating consequences” if Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn fails to support the democratic vote of 17.4 million people in the 2016 Brexit referendum. Labour Leave’s Brendan Chilton said: “If you look at where we are in the polls at the moment, there are different views across the country, but certainly in the Midlands and in the north of Wales the trend is Labour is losing votes to the Brexit Party. In Peterborough there was an 8.6 percent swing.
What we need actually is for the Labour Party to accept the outcome of the referendum

“If we continue to go down the route of a second referendum with the option to Remain.
“And if the Labour Party at our conference this year comes out fully in favour of Remain, there is a chance we are going to lose the bulk of those five million Labour Leave voters to the Brexit Party.”
The Brexiteer said it is possible Labour has lost around one million voters due to its inability to choose a side on Brexit.
He warned: “And if we continue down this path we will lose the rest. Across the country this will have devastating consequences on a host of seats. Seats such as Ashfield and Dudley where Labour’s majority is very thin. Peterborough indeed, and seats that we lost to the Tories in the general election.
“We need those back if we are to form a Government. Unfortunately, the Labour Party is dominated by people who support Remain.”
Mr Chilton launched a furious attack on Remainers within the Labour Party and added: “And the message they are pushing down the Leader’s ear is that ‘we need to come out for a referendum and we need to campaign for Remain’. They are delusional.
“And what we need actually is for the Labour Party to accept the outcome of the referendum and go for Brexit and to articulate its vision for what the country should look like after we leave.
“And I think if the country did that then we would clean up.”
A shocking new poll of 1,043 adults in Great Britain between June 21 to 25 reveals British people view Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage as a more suitable leader than Jeremy Corbyn.
The Ipsos MORI poll for the London Evening Standard showed that 32 percent of the public think Mr Farage is a “capable leader” versus just 23 percent for Mr Corbyn.
Boris Johnson beats both with 33 percent while his Tory leadership rival Jeremy Hunt comes first on 37 percent.
Just 19 percent of respondents thought Mr Corbyn would be “good in a crisis” versus 28 percent for Mr Farage and 32 percent for Mr Hunt.

When asked whether Mr Corbyn would make a good Prime Minister only 22 percent agreed, versus 68 percent who disagreed.
According to Gideon Skinner, Ipsos MORI’s head of research, the findings mark a dramatic reversal in Mr Corbyn’s fortunes.
He commented: “When he was up against Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn’s public image was strongest on honesty, personality and being less out of touch, but his ratings have fallen on all of these, while remaining weak on factors such as being good in a crisis.
“This will all make it harder for him to capitalise against the new opponents he will have to face as May’s premiership ends.”
