Brexiteer Tory savages Remainers as he hilariously taunts chief Eurocrat Michel Barnier

The Tory MP and Leave supporter recorded himself in New York while he explained how the UK would make a success of Brexit and thrive. Nigel Evans argued that the UK would be able to resolve many of the arguments for Remaining like immigration, security and trade deals following leaving the European Union. He said: “I guess the big thing for me in why we voted to Leave the EU, is democracy.

“To get our democracy back and it would seem rather strange that after having had a referendum where we had a huge number of people voting, that we don’t deliver on the result of that.

“That would be bad for democracy.

“Lots of excuses and reasons as to why we should stay in the EU.

“One is of course security, we have to be in with the other 27 to ensure the security of the European Union?

“But hold on Five Eyes, we work with America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

“We don’t have to be part of their countries in order to ensure security, so you’ve got that.

“Secondly people then say immigration, what about immigration into the UK.

“We’re not saying no to immigration, what we’re saying is no to uncontrolled immigration.

“We are going to give and guarantee the rights to the 3.5 million EU citizens living in the UK and we expect the same for the UK citizens living in the EU as well.

“We will look all over the world as to where we want to take our skills for British industry not just the EU 27.

“Then, of course, global Britain, we want to deal with countries all over the world.

“Including, funnily enough, the EU and of course the USA.

“Donald Trump, the President has already said that he wants to do a great deal with the UK, that is going to be 3,4,5 times bigger than the trade we are currently doing with them.

“At the moment we have a £50bn surplus with the USA.

“By the way, that’s a £95bn deficit with the EU, so it really does make sense for them to do a trade deal with us.

“But Michel Barnier says it takes two to tango, well we’re on the dance floor Michel, it is up to you to step up to the plate.”

Boris Johnson’s recent trips around Europe meeting Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron sparked hopes the Prime Minister is quickly wearing down the bloc.

More talks between Mr Johnson and the European leaders are set to happen this weekend as leaders gear up for the G7 summit.
