Brexiteer Grimes savages MPs for anti-Brexit stance and concludes no deal is now ONLY way
Brexiteer Darren Grimes argued that Theresa May’s Government never had “any intention” of implementing Brexit after the Remain side lost the referendum. In an interview with Express.co.uk Mr Grimes reflected on the sentiments from the Government leading up to the referendum noting their promises to implement the choice no matter the result. He said: “In 2016 Parliament gave this decision to the British people in an in-out referendum.
“They were told time and time again and in a 9 million pound Government-funded leaflet that the Government and Parliament would implement what they decide.
“They have quite clearly made it crystal clear that they have never had any intention of delivering on that, which was the biggest democratic mandate in British electoral history.
“So I think actually desperate times call for desperate measures.
“If Parliament’s not going to get its act together, they could have voted for Theresa May’s deal three times.

“I didn’t think it was the best deal in the world but they could have done that, they chose not to.
“Therefore no deal is the only viable alternative.”
Earlier in the interview, Mr Grimes emphasised his trust in Boris Johnson and his faith to deliver Brexit.
He explained that Mr Johnson’s team could be trusted because each member was committed to delivering Brexit.
He added that the Leave majority was being treated like a minority by some politicians as he complained about Remainers failing to respect the referendum result.
“For a long time, I think the Leave majority, 17.4 million of them, have been treated like a minority.
“We are spoken about as this minority that can be fobbed off and ignored.
“I think that is what project fear was all about.
“We have had constant attrition of our moral and people have just thought, Parliamentarians have been thinking: they will get bored of it, these plebs will just move on and forget about their fanciful ideas about independence and trading around the world.
“And actually that hasn’t happened.”
