Brexiteer Flint delivers savage THREE-WORD reply to Tom Watson joining People’s Vote march
Labour MP for Don Valley Caroline Flint, who supported Theresa May’s Brexit withdrawal agreement, was asked by BBC radio host Nick Robinson about Tom Watson’s decision to attend the People’s Vote march. Ms Flint, delivered a swift response before claiming “many Labour MPs” disagree with the deputy leader’s “point of view”. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, the host asked: “Caroline, do you think, and representing the people of Doncaster you have resisted the idea of another referendum.
“But, do you think it is significant, as someone who understands what is going on, that the party deputy leader Tom Watson will today be on a march for a so-called People’s Vote and said he will vote for Theresa May’s deal providing it is tied to a People’s Vote.”
The Labour MP snapped back with a brutal three-word response, saying: “No, not really.”
She added: “Since July last year the People’s Vote campaign has argued to put the deal to a second referendum and I think Tom has indicated that’s where he wants to go. Many Labour MP’s disagree with that point of view.
“The truth is we have a deal on the table, there ash been movement. We are now going to enshrine in law, protection of workers rights. In law, also protection of environmental standards.”

On Friday evening Labour’s Tom Watson said that he would support the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal, but only if it goes back to the British people.
He told LBC: “Millions of people voted for Brexit, many more millions of people are going to be impacted by Brexit.
“Their jobs, their families, their communities, their public services, they’re going to be deeply affected by this deal. We’ve had a thousand days of Brexit crisis and failure. It’s time for a new solution.”
He added: “The Prime Minister is saying she wants a compromise, but earlier in the week she insulted MPs on both sides of the House, those MPs that she needs to get this deal through.
“I really don’t know what the future holds. I honestly think only a public ballot on her deal… will break a thousand days of Brexit deadlock.”
Mr Watson also said that he would be attending the People’s Vote march in London on Saturday, which thousands of Brits are expected to attend.
It comes following a turbulent week for the Prime Minister who was offered a Brexit extension by the European Union until May 22, if her withdrawal agreement passes in the House of Commons after MPs voted for a delay to the divorce process.
If the Prime Minister’s Brexit withdrawal agreement is rejected by MPs, the extension will be cut short until April 12, when the UK will then have to set out its next steps, which will include leaving the EU with no deal or extending the process further.
The Prime Minister was expected to bring her deal back to the Commons next week, but on Friday evening, Mrs May wrote a letter to MPs suggesting she may not bring her deal back if there is not enough support for it across the House.
Mrs May wrote: “If it appears that there is not sufficient support to bring the deal back next week, or the House rejects it again, we can ask for another extension before 12 April – but that will involve holding European Parliament elections.
“If it appears that there is sufficient support and the Speaker permits it, we can bring the deal back next week and if it is approved we can leave on 22 May.”
