Brexiteer caller who ran port of Dover explains what no deal Brexit will REALLY mean

The caller, who used to run the Customs terminal at the Port of Dover, revealed the simple no deal plan to Iain Dale which ensures there won’t be any delays or food shortages in the UK. Robert explained any hold up on commodities will be in Calais, France but there are numerous plans in motion for drivers to continue their easy transit “exactly like it is today”. His comments come after Remainers warned of “panic buying” in the aftermath of a potential no deal Brexit which MPs and Tory rebels have voted to stop.

Speaking to LBC, Robert said: “I think you’re going to have to go out of your way to be delayed.

“A consignment from Europe has a document which is then lodged at the port.

“It will then arrive in Dover in transit, exactly like it is today.

“Your first import declaration in a no deal Brexit environment is due at the end of six months. You’ve got six months to do the import entry.

“In a no deal plan, the only thing that’s going to have any difference from today is the EU exporter needs to raise an export declaration. That’s the end of Brexit no deal planning.”

Mr Dale questioned why are the public receiving warnings of traffic jams in Kent and huge food shortages.

Robert added: “If there are any problems with motorways in Kent, it will be getting out again.

“But the Government have literally today released a project which I’ve been working on for quite a few months, which is 150 pop-up stations and truck parks across the UK and Europe, where drivers can call in and have their paperwork checked so that they can approach the border knowing everything is in place.

“These will be all over the UK, so the message is don’t come into Kent unless you are border-ready.”

Robert added: “There will be a shortage of cheddar in Carrefore, but there won’t be a shortage of Brie in Tesco.”

The amazing contingency plan to a potential no deal Brexit comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson refuses to request an extension from the EU despite lawfully being ordered to do so if he doesn’t have a deal by October 17.

Mr Johnson said he would rather “die in a ditch” than delay Brexit again for another three months.

Mr Johnson has previously vowed to leave the EU with or without a deal on October 31.

He has said he will flatly refuse their demand for a Brexit delay in a passionate Commons speech.

He warned that respect for Parliament across the country had been “gravely undermined” by months of “dither, delay, procrastination and confusion”.

In a furious assault, he branded Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour MPs “yellow bellies” for blocking a general election.
