Brexiteer businessman outlines his Brexit VISION MPs would NEVER risk – ‘we’d sort it out’

The Brexiteer and founder of Ebac, a manufacturer of washing machines and dehumidifiers in the UK, warned politicians will “never” have the vision to push for Brexit as he outlined his plan for Britain’s departure from the EU. Speaking to Express.co.uk, the Ebac founder said: “Even if we wait 10 years they will never sort it out. They have made zero progress in three years. So, they will make double that in six years. Business will sort it out. Let’s assume there are tariffs on motor cars between the UK and Europe. That means we would buy more British cars and they’d buy more European cars. The net figure would be the same.

“And even if there were fewer motorcars produced. As long as those people can be redeployed to do something useful. We just need some vision.

“We just need some investment, you can’t leave it to the markets because the market is run by big business who have got short term visions for them. We are not here to serve business.

“Business is here to serve the people. People seem to forget that.”

Despite MPs voting to rule out a no deal Brexit under any circumstances, Mr Elliott outlined hit Brexit vision and said he would decide to leave with no deal.

Mr Elliott continued: “I would set the tariffs between us and Europe at zero exactly as they are now so that we can they would set our tariffs and the EU could do what they want.”

“And then I would talk to the EU and say ‘I am going to set our tariffs now so that our trade is equal, more or less. That seems to me very reasonable, isn’t it?

“Just talk to someone and say we’ve got to sell the same to you as you sell to us give or take a few million.

“And then set tariffs to do that. But then organise back here so we can deal with that. Invest in industry.”

The comments come as Prime Minister Theresa May attempts to come to a Brexit agreement with the Labour Party in a desperate attempt to get her deal through.

Labour has accused Theresa May of failing to offer any substantive changes to her Brexit deal in cross-party talks.

Negotiations between a team of ministers and shadow ministers got under way again today after the Easter break but Labour sources accused the Government team of being unwilling to make changes to the political declaration setting out Britain’s future relationship with the EU.

One Labour source said ministers involved in the talks appeared to be less engaged than in recent meetings and suggested the Government had been distracted by the latest attempt to oust Mrs May.
