Brexit WARNING: Jeremy Corbyn branded ‘most extremist leader’ in western politics

Speaking on Sky News Australia, Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan warned it would be “disturbing” to elect Jeremy Corbyn as the next British Prime Minister. Mr Sheridan claimed the Labour leader could be considered “the most outlandish and extremist leader in the west because of his past association with extreme leftie and antisemitic organisations. But warned the leftie leader could give the Conservatives one last chance to win the next general elections against their reputation tarnished by the Brexit negotiations.

He said: “Just as I think Theresa May is the worst British Prime Minister I’ve seen in my lifetime, Jeremy Corbyn is surely the most outlandish and extremist leader of any major western party in modern times.

“Jeremy Corbyn has spent his life consorting with terrorists and anti-Semites and extreme leftists.

“He supported Hugo Chavez in Venezuela always, he supported Hamas, he spoke at Hamas functions, he described Hamas as his friends.

“He was unhappy with the Good Friday Agreement because he thought the IRA had caved in.

“He was friends with the IRA when they were murderous terrorists and organised functions for them in the House of Commons.

“Now the fact that any kind of rank and file ballot could elect someone like him is a very disturbing sign about who voted in rank and file ballot.”

Other controversial meetings of the Labour leader include a 2009 meeting with President Assad in Syria, a “takeaway dinner” with ex-Hamas chief Khaled Mahal, and a willingness to meet the Lebanese group Hesbollah, who are classified by the US Government as a terror organisation.

Mr Corbyn has had close ties to the IRA, meeting with Gerry Adams on occasion and even inviting two convicted IRA terrorists to Westminster just 12 days after the 1984 Brighton bombing – an attempt to assassinate Margaret Thatcher that resulted in the deaths of five people.

Mr Sheridan added: “He is the only reason that the Tories have the slightest chance of winning next time.

“But even an opponent as bad as that will not save you if you are in total, absolute chaos.”

It comes as Prime Minister Theresa May was on the brink of being ousted from Downing Street last night in the face of an all-out Tory mutiny.

Following an extraordinary day of in-fighting at Westminster, Cabinet ministers and backbenchers launched parallel coup attempts to force Mrs May from office on the eve of today’s Euro elections.

They have been outraged by her offer to hold a Commons vote on a second EU referendum.

The Prime Minister flatly refused demands for a showdown over her Brexit plans.

Now MPs believe she will have no choice other than to announce her resignation within days.
