Brexit ‘unstoppable’ under Johnson due to mounting pressure – ‘Breathing down his neck’
Boris Johnson will have less than 100 days to deliver on his pledge to see Brexit through once he receives confirmation of his mandate from the Queen. But the incoming Prime Minister has received a glowing forecast for his chances as former Labour MP George Galloway insisted Brexit will be “unstoppable” under Mr Johnson’s leadership. Speaking to RT UK, Mr Galloway said: “Brexit looks unstoppable to me, now – you’ve got a very pro-Brexit British Prime Minister.
“And you’ve got Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party on over 20 percent of the vote in every poll, sometimes a little bit more breathing down Boris Johnson’s neck.”
Following the success of the Brexit Party at both the local elections and the European elections in May, the Conservative Party has been eager to win over unhappy voters who defected to the pro-Brexit party.
But with the election of Mr Johnson, himself a vocal promoter of plans to quit the European Union ahead of the 2016 referendum, Mr Galloway insisted there would be no stopping Brexit.
He continued: “Brexit is unstoppable now but there will be hold outs.

People who will dream of re-entering the European Union at some stage
George Galloway
“People who will dream of re-entering the European Union at some stage – they’ll have a measure of support in the country.
“It will all depend on how Britain does in the choppier waters of the whole world into which we now sail from the rather stagnant ports of the European Union.”
Addressing party members and supporters in London after the announcement of his election, Mr Johnson said: “We are going to get Brexit done on 31 October, we are going to take advantage of all the opportunities that it will bring in a new spirit of can-do.
“And we are once again going to believe in ourselves and what we can do and like some slumbering giant we are going to rise and ping off the guy ropes of self-doubt and negativity.”
The former Foreign Secretary said: “At this pivotal moment in our history, we again have to reconcile two sets of instincts, two noble instincts, between the deep desire of friendship and trade and mutual support and security between Britain and our European partners, and the simultaneous desire equally deep and heartfelt for democratic self-government in this country.
“Some people say they are irreconcilable and it just can’t be done.”
But despite his pledge to deliver on the Brexit referendum “come what may,” Mr Johnson has sparked doubt he would actually succeed in either securing a deal with Brussels or going ahead with a no deal Brexit.
Speaking to Sky News, Mr Farage said: “I wish Boris Johnson well and I actually mean that.

“When he says we’re going to leave on October 31, I hope he is right but I just don’t see how.”
The Brexit Party continued: “He’s got almost no parliamentary majority, he’s leading a party that is bitterly divided – we’ve seen resignations already.
“I just don’t think that in the next 100 days he is going to be able to deliver Brexit unless he is very, very brave and goes to the country with an early General Election.”
A YouGov poll conducted between July 9 and July 10 found the Brexit Party was the second biggest party in the UK among the 1,671 British adults polled.
The pro-Brexit movement, whose manifesto was only officially launched mere weeks before the European elections, snatched 29 seats in the European Parliament as 30.52 percent of British voters showing up to the polls cast their vote in favour of Mr Farage’s party.
