Brexit Party’s Martin Daubney warns UK heading for ‘dark, dark times’ if Brexit is stopped
Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney shared his devastating fears of what Britain could become if “democracy is shattered like this”. The MEP for the West Midlands spoke to Julia Hartley-Brewer on her TalkRadio show in the recent light of the Supreme Court rulings. The Supreme Court officially ruled that Boris Johnson’s prorogation of Parliament was “unlawful”.
Brexit Party leader, Nigel Farage, publicly called for the Prime Minister’s senior advisor, Dominic Cummings, to resign over the scandal.
Mrs Hartley-Brewer asked Mr Daubney if the tense relationship between Mr Farage and Mr Cummings could be put aside for the joint goal of Brexit.
She said: “We know there’s a lot of bad blood between Nigel Farage, your party leader, and Dominic Cummings who’s the Senior Advisor to Boris Johnson because he ran the Vote Leave campaign as opposed to the Leave.EU campaign.
“And we know about all these personal issues and Nigel Farage has called for him to go and blamed him for all the prorogation and Supreme Court and all that.”
The radio host continued: “But if your number one priority is delivering Brexit, would it not be right for the Brexit Party to stand down candidates at the next election.
“Whether there’s a formal deal or not, to ensure that as many Eurosceptic Conservative MPs or any other party MPs are elected to deliver Brexit.
“Or will you still want to stand against pretty much every other Tory candidate in every constituency, other than those who held out against the third vote of the withdrawal agreement as Nigel Farage has promised?”
Mr Daubney was adamant that the Brexit Party would stick with its current position, saying that they’ve been “abundantly clear on this position all along”.
He said: “That is if Boris Johnson is going to deliver a clean break Brexit, a true Brexit, not a Brexit in name only, not Theresa May’s deal with a blonde wig on, not a reheated surrender treaty.
“If a proper Brexit is on the table then we will stand aside against proper Tory Eurosceptics.”
“But if we’re going to move towards an era now where, and this is the feeling in Brussels, that Boris Johnson is in such perilous fear, not only of his own political future, but the Conservative’s existence, and we are going to go towards a withdrawal agreement part four then we will stand against it.

The MEP added: “We can’t come at 5 to 12 when it’s almost midnight and capitulate and surrender because that will not be Brexit.
“People are so tired of this, they go with it, that’s the real fear.”
“We can’t allow Brussels to just roll us over at the last moment, it is just a travesty, and the anger on the street is absolutely palpable.
“I really fear that if democracy is shattered like this, the electorate is just swept aside and ignored, we’re heading for dark, dark times.
“I don’t know where it’s going to end. People are talking to me about civil unrest and I really hope we don’t go down that route.”
