Speaking to BBC journalist Huw Edwards, Mr Farage defiantly stated his party was based on gaining independence for the UK and for “major political reform”. Answering questions from members of the public, Mr Farage remained adamant that his party would finally deliver on the referendum result. Mr Farage also stated following the EU Elections next week, his party would inform the public of their future policies going forward.

The leading Brexiteer said: “The Brexit Party is about the UK being an independent country.

“It’s about us reaching out to the Commonwealth.

“And it’s about major political reform.”

Mr Farage’s comments come as his Brexit Party has started to gain traction ahead of next week’s EU Election.

In a recent YouGov poll, his Brexit Party was placed well ahead of its rivals as many expect the public to punish the major political parties for failing to deliver on Brexit.

Speaking on Brexit Mr Farage added: “We voted to leave.

“We were promised in a General Election that we would leave.

“And we haven’t left.

“The greatest democratic exercise in the history of this nation has been overturned by Parliament.”

In order to avoid a potential humiliation in the EU Election, Theresa May had hoped to pass her Brexit deal through Parliament before next week. 

However, after talks with Labour have so far failed, her party was forced to announce that it would run in the EU Election despite many in her own party warning of horrific losses.

Nigel Evans – an executive member of the 1922 Committee – warned that his party are “going to get an absolute hammering” in the EU Election.
