Brexit Party MEP reveals Theresa May’s ‘biggest mistake’ during the Brexit process
The Brexiteer argued that during the 2016 referendum the Leave team did not mention a deal with the European Union as part of their Brexit campaign. Ms Mummery is the Brexit Party’s spokesperson for fishing and coastal issues. She gave Express.co.uk her view on the ongoing process to leave the European Union.
Ms Mummery said: “I think no deal is the way forward in my opinion and for my industry.
“I know there will be bumps on the road but without the rain you don’t get the rainbow I’m afraid.
“I have always been a hard Brexit that is in my makeup.
“That is the type of person I am.
“I’ll tell you why, because I believe in my country.
“I believe in the people and the biggest mistake we ever made was Theresa May when she stood there messing around where she should of said ‘right, we’re off see you later’.
“They would of come to us because people forget one important bit here.”
She continued: “In 2016 David Cameron asked for a deal.
“He went over there and asked them, and they said no.
“So that means shut her down, shop closed off you go.
“There was your answer, we had the referendum and no one even mentioned a deal.
“Someone just came along with ‘we need this deal’.
