Brexit outrage: ‘Bullying’ Remainers launch horror protest outside Jacob Rees-Mogg’s home
The daring attempt was part of Remainer efforts to stop a no deal exit from the European Union on October 31. A mob of pro-EU voters also gathered outside the Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary Alex Chalk’s office in Cheltenham. He was forced to face the rabble even though he actually voted Remain in the referendum.
In a video clip of the protest from The Sun, Mr Chalk attempted to calm down his constituents.
He told them the move to suspend Parliament sent out the “wrong” message.
The MP joked: “What can you do, bring down the government?”
To which the crowd cheered loudly in response.
Following this, ex-Labour councillor candidate Howard Simpson tweeted out Jacob Rees-Mogg’s home address.
Mr Simpson deleted the tweet but he had already told thousands to show up at the Brexiteer’s village in Somerset to demonstrate.
Police confirmed they were bracing themselves for a large protest outside the Commons Leader’s house.
Mr Rees-Mogg received support online, blasting Mr Simpson for encouraging “mob bullying”.
One said: “This is wrong, this is not democracy, it’s intimidation.”
