Brexit LIVE: Andrew Neil predicts no deal Brexit as he warns of ‘huge bust up’ with EU

In a tweet this morning, Andrew claimed a “huge bust-up ” will soon be on the cards between the two over their differing negotiating objectives. Brussels is also set for a showdown today as European Council President Charles Michel attempts to finalise the EU’s budget today. Speaking at a summit in Brussels, Mr Michel will attempt to convince EU leaders into covering the estimated £62billion hole in the budget following the UK’s departure. Mr Michel, however could opposition to the bill from Emmanuel Macron who has called on a larger budget but has not specifically stated how much more France is willing to pay. The meeting on the budget comes as Boris Johnson’s calls for a Canada-style agreement were not workable.

Senior adviser to Michel Barnier, Stefaan De Rynck said the trade deal between the EU and Canada was a “different ball game” to that of the future deal between Brussels and London.

Due to the geographical proximity between the two clubs, the EU official admitted trade talks could be “rather difficult”.

Talks between the EU and UK are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks but the two have already clashed over the idea of a “level playing field”.

The EU has demanded the UK adhere to strict standards in order not to get the upper hand in future trade, which Mr Johnson has refused to do so.
