GDP had been rising steadily since January, as the economy recovered from the coronavirus pandemic, with a small decreas of 0.2 percent from June to July. However, it appears that return to pre-pandemic levels has begun to slow.
Economists had forecast that the economy would rise by 0.4 percent.
According to statistics released by the Office of National Statistics today (Friday), the UK economy still remains 0.5 percent below what it was in February 2020 – before Covid took hold.
