Brexit boost: More than half of voters want an election now after anti-Brexit ‘plot’
Alongside this a ‘dithering’ Jeremy Corbyn slipped down to third choice as Prime Minister. A recent MailOnline poll revealed 55 percent of voters want an early election. Mr Corbyn could face a mass revolt of millions of labour supporters over his refusal to agree to a snap election.
The survey found 64 percent who voted for Labour in 2017 want an early poll.
It also showed most voters think “the Establishment” is determined stop Brexit.
The opinion poll was carried out after the Supreme Court ruled Boris Johnson’s suspension of Parliament was unlawful.
Boris Johnson last night gave the Opposition a chance to table a no confidence motion in the Government, triggering an election.
Conservatives claimed Mr Corbyn was “running scared” after rejecting the move.
Mr Johnson believes an early election could be his best chance of breaking the Brexit deadlock.
Mr Corbyn claims he wants to delay an election until a no deal departure has been ruled out.
