Boy fighting for life after air ambulance lands at soft play centre

He was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital after a medical emergency at Crash Bang Wallop in the city’s Lindon Road at about 4.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, February 1. The youngster was found in a critical condition and given advanced life support at the scene by paramedics.

Shaunna Farley, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman, said: “We were called at 4.26pm to reports of a medical emergency on Lindon Road, Walsall. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, two Critical Care Cars from the Air Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

“Upon arrival we found a child in a critical condition. He received advanced life support from ambulance staff on scene and was conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further assessment.”

The age of the boy has not yet been released, Birmingham Live reports.

Crash Bang Wallop declined to comment but posted on social media to say the venue would be closed today, Wednesday, February 2.

Social media users have expressed their sadness at the emergency and wished the boy a speedy recovery.They also offered support to the firm. One woman, seemingly a relative of the boy, wrote: “Thank you to everyone at Crash Bang Wallop, for all of your kindness, help and support this evening. It must of been very traumatic for you all.

“I cannot thank you enough for looking after my family.”

The Crash Bang Wallop account replied: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”

Another customer wrote: “Don’t know what happened but sending all my prayers and love that the boy involved is ok”

Another person said: “Praying with everything that I have that little boy pulls through.”
