The Prime Minister is planning to hand out honours to both Leavers and Remainers in the next few weeks in an attempt to heal the wounds of Brexit within the Tory Party. Mr Johnson kicked 21 MPs out of the Conservative Party after they rebelled against him and tried to prevent a no-deal Brexit. Now Express.co.uk readers have voiced their anger after news that former chancellors Philip Hammond, Ken Clarke, and ex-culture minister Ed Vaizey are thought to be about to receive peerages.
These MPs were noted for their attempts to halt and derail Brexit.
The overwhelming majority of those polled on this website said they were against the decision.
A staggering 91 percent of readers said the Prime minister was wrong to plan to give out the honours.
Only nine percent agreed with his decision.
Lass than one percent of respondents voted that they did not know whether they greed with Mr Johnson.
One angry Express.co.uk reader commented: “Honouring saboteurs, after all their potentially damaging efforts?”
Another said: “I think giving them a Peerage will split the party even further.”
The total amount of people who voted in the poll was 2,609.
Those who voted against the Prime Minister’s plan was 2,343.
Those in favour voters came in at only 221.
People who said they don’t know tallied at 45.
According to the Times, Mr Johnson will hand out life peerages to key Remainers in order to mark his first year in office.

For instance, former England cricketer Sir Ian Botham will receive a peerage.
Sir Ian publicly backed the Brexit campaign.
Even four ex-labour MPs who supported the Conservative’s Brexit proposals will be provided an appointment to the Lords.
Two of these Labour MPs are Frank Field and Gisela Stuart.
They supported Leave in the 2016 referendum.
The poll was launched on the 18th of July 2020 and concluded on the 19th of July.
