Boris Johnson will 'suspend Parliament again next week'
The prime minister is expected to ask the Queen to prorogue Parliament again next week.
Boris Johnson is to request a three day suspension, which is a stark contrast to the earlier five week request that the Supreme Court had ruled unlawful.
Mr Johnson has said he will abide by the earlier ruling by the Supreme Court, even though he ‘strongly disagrees with it’.
The latest suspension is being made so that the prime minister can deliver his government’s agenda at a Queen’s speech, currently scheduled for October 14, the Sun reported.
A senior minister is reported to have said that ‘everything will be done by the book’ this time.
They added: ‘Missing two of three sitting days is pretty much the minimum time we need’.
It comes as Mr Johnson is expected to set out his plans for a Brexit deal at the Conservative Party conference later today.
The prime minister is expected to say that ‘we must get Brexit done’ because ‘voters feel they’re being taken for fools’.
The decision to prorogue Parliament again will give the government enough time to prepare for a final set of talks with the EU over Brexit on October 17-18.
