Kensington Palace surprised royal fans this morning by released a new picture of Princess Charlotte. The little Cambridge turns five today, and her birthday had already been marked yesterday evening by the release of four never-before-seen snaps of the royal. 

But this morning, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William decided to share a new snap to thank royal fans for their support and birthday wishes. 

Kensington Palace, the social media account representing the Cambridges, wrote on Twitter: “Thank you for all your lovely messages on Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday!

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte, taken by The Duchess this April.”
