Body found in river by Police believed to be of missing teenager
Police have discovered a body in the river Frome in Dorset, believed to be that of 18-year-old, Alex Bendall who was first reported missing on Sunday 12 February, earlier this year. The body was found in the area of Lubbecke Way at 3pm in the afternoon and formal identification is yet to be conducted.
Dorset police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.”
The statement added: “The family of Alex has been informed of the development and officers are giving support. The family requests privacy at this time.”
Alex Bendall disappeared from his home in Dorchester on February 12 and his family said it was “out of character for him to go wondering” without telling them.
After a major search operation was issued to find the teenager, there were no answers for over two months, until yesterday.
Dorset police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner has been notified.”
The statement added: “The family of Alex has been informed of the development and officers are giving support. The family requests privacy at this time.”

A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the body at the Dorset County Hospital, in Dorchester, to establish the exact cause of the teenager’s death.
