'Blood everywhere' as man attacked with 'machete' by gang of six
Horrified onlookers saw ‘blood everywhere’ after a man was dragged out of his car and reportedly attacked with a machete.
Witnesses say the victim was left lying in a pool of blood in the doorway of a Costa Coffee at 1pm this afternoon.
He was rushed to hospital and the extent of his injuries is not yet known.
A second man was also injured during the onslaught in Smethwick, near Birmingham.
The gang set upon the victim’s silver Ford Fiesta, smashing the windscreen and driver’s door before fleeing the scene.
The victim was dragged out of the car but managed to break free and bolted to a coffee shop, reports MailOnline.
Recalling the attack on social media, one witness said: ‘Really really bad scene…blood everywhere, very scary…it is very depressing.’
Another witness told Birmingham Live: ‘I walked out of Greggs into this, terrifying. Thank you to the ladies in Greggs for getting us back inside and locking the door.’
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: ‘Police received several 999 calls reporting disorder involving around six men with weapons on Bearwood Road, Smethwick at around 12:50pm this afternoon.
‘A vehicle was damaged and two people are thought to have been injured, the extent of their injuries is not known at this stage.’
